Eligibility Criteria for UK Innovator Founder Visa

To qualify for the UK Innovator Founder Visa, applicants must present an innovative, viable, and scalable business plan backed by a letter of endorsement from a government-approved Endorsing Body. They must demonstrate English language proficiency, meet minimum financial requirements, and show they can sustain themselves and their dependents. The program allows a pathway to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) after three years, provided certain business achievements are fulfilled.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold CEFR B2 level English, and be part of the founding team of a UK-based, pre-revenue start-up.

Applicants must create an innovative, viable, and scalable business plan, and obtain a letter of endorsement from a government-approved Endorsing Body.

Applicants must prove financial resources of at least £1,270 for themselves, £285 for a partner, £315 for a first child, and £200 for each additional child, maintained over 28 days.

Applicants may be required to provide a medical certificate and must not be absent from the UK for more than 180 days per year during residency.

The minimum capital outlay is GBP 200,000. The main visa term is three years, with options for residency extension if business achievements are unmet.

Applicants may apply for ILR after three years if they achieve at least two of seven prescribed business milestones, such as job creation or revenue growth.

Spouses and dependent children under 18 can be included in the application. Children over 18 are not eligible as dependents.

Holders can travel visa-free within the Common Travel Area and enjoy full rights to live, work, and study in the UK without restrictions.
